Perseids Meteor Shower and the occultation of Jupiter 2012

In the summer sky show will take place again. The phenomenon of the meteor shower will adorn the night sky throughout the Indonesian archipelago. The early morning of August 12, 2012 Perseids Meteor shower will greet us at the beginning of August this or hose 2 weeks after the Southern Delta Aquarids meteor shower (SDA) takes place. But the Perseids meteor shower this year will be very special when it happens where the "eclipse" the planet Jupiter.

Perseids meteor shower this time the activity began on July 17, 2012 until August 24, 2012 and peaked in the early hours of Sunday morning August 12, 2012. The intensity of meteor showers resulting from the remains of ruins of the tail of comet Swift-Tuttle is very high. Meteor will be passing is expected to reach 100 meteors per hour with an average speed of 59 Km / sec.

Its high intensity Perseids meteor shower is very unfortunate indeed if you do not see it. Perseids will have a radiant direction of the constellation Perseus which rises from the eastern horizon sky at 01.00WIB. Unfortunately it appears when the constellation Perseus, the moon also rises at the same time so it can be predicted light of the moon will interfere with observations of meteor showers on the meteors of magnitude lower air.

Meteor Falling to Earth Ever

Meteor is the appearance of lines meteoroids fall into Earth's atmosphere, commonly known as shooting stars. Sighting was caused by the heat generated by ram pressure (not by friction, as was generally assumed before) at the time of meteoroids entering the atmosphere. A very bright meteor, brighter than Venus apparition, can be called a bolide.

If the meteoroid does not burn out on its way in the atmosphere and reaches Earth's surface, the resulting object is called a meteorite. Meteor hit the Earth or other objects can be formed impact crater. (Wikipedia)

And following some kind of meteor showers that have fallen to Earth:

1. Orionid meteor shower
Orionid meteor shower appears every year, and peak around October 21. This meteor shower is clearly visible and looks up to 20 meteors per hour of green and yellow. Is the name of the Orionid meteor light in the sky at the point where they originated. These meteors can be seen all over the sky but the line of their movement would always be pointed toward the light. Orionid meteor light located near the constellation Orion. And rain caused by Comet Halley meteor that orbits around 75-76 years.

2. Perseid meteor shower
Perseid meteors are the meteors that we may see most clearly and is usually seen in the northern hemisphere during the night on a warm summer. Brighter and more, is associated with the Perseid comet Swift-Tuttle is amazing.

These meteors appear to originate from a light in the constellation Perseus, and occurs when the earth through meteor streams known as the Perseid cloud which is actually the residue of the tail of comet Swift-Tuttle.

Most of the Perseid cloud of dust from the thousands of years old, although some of them are young dust evaporating from the comet in 1862.

Perseid meteor shower has been observed around 200 years ago and is usually seen from mid-July and a peak on August 12 each year.

3. Geminid meteor shower
Meteor is not like other meteor that was born of a comet, but they come from a asteroid, a rocky planetoid near Earth named Phaeton 3200. In general, the asteroid does not generate dust into the air and even predicted earlier this asteroid was a comet.

Phaeton elliptical orbit like a comet and bring it even close to the sun than Mercury's orbit. The first Geminids appeared 150 years ago, and since then they bombard the earth on a regular basis every year in mid-December.

They are expected to be more on the meteor shower each year and recently has seen more than hundreds of meteors in the sky.

4. Quadrantids meteor shower
Many flashes of meteors seen in the picture below, although hindered by aurora green light next to his right.Visible red light is a light aircraft left astronomers that NASA DC-8 flew over Canada to study the Quadrantids meteor shower. With the help of a special camera that can produce a composite image that combines a short exposure, the researchers hope to learn from this meteor shower which originally came from.

Because of the strong appearance of this meteor, in early January, this meteor shower is tentatively identified as a minor planet called planet 2003 EH1.

Possible meteor was also observed by astronomers from China, Japan and Korea since half a millennium ago. At the peak of appearance, this meteor shower will be seen less than 1 hour.

Comet and Meteor understanding

A. Comet
Comets are celestial bodies in orbit around the sun is elliptical or parabolic or hyperbolic. The word "comet" comes from the Greek, meaning "long hair". Other terms were not shooting stars that are not appropriate because the comet was not a star. The Javanese call it a latitude cubeb because it has a tail like the dried fruit cubeb.

Comets are composed of ice and dust. Comets are composed of a collection of dust and gas that freezes when being away from the sun. When approaching the sun, most of the building blocks of comets evaporates to form the head and tail gas. Comets also around the sun, so it is included in the solar system. Incandescent gas with a Comet orbits are different. Long "tail" comet can reach millions of miles. Some comets traveled farther in space than the planet. Some of the comet takes thousands of years to complete one orbit of the sun.

a. Parts of Comet
Core, is a very dense material, its diameter reaches a few kilometers, and is formed from the evaporation of the materials making up the comet ice, which then turns into gas. Comet's core is a rock and snow. Goma, the regional haze or veil-like region around the nucleus. Hydrogen layer, the layer that surrounds the coma, not visible to human eyes. Hydrogen cloud diameter of about 20 million kilometers. Tail, the luminous gas that occurs when a comet passes near the sun. Comet tail direction is always away from the sun. The tail of a comet consists of two kinds, namely the dust tail and the tail gas. Form of the arch-shaped dust tail visible, while the straight-shaped tail gas. Coma or tail of the comet as it approached the sun that is created when some of the core melt into gas. Solar wind then blew the gas so as to resemble a billowing smoke toward the back of the head of the comet. The tail is seen shining from the earth. A comet has a tail and sometimes there are two or more.

b. Type of Comet
Long-tailed comet, the comet with the line of the track so far through the areas that are very cold in space, so the opportunity to absorb the gases are passed through the area. When approaching the sun, the comet is releasing the gas to form the coma and tail are very long. For example, Kohoutek comet passing near the sun once every 75,000 years, and Halley's comet every 76 years.

Short-tailed comet, the comet with the line of the track is very short so have less opportunity to absorb the gas in its path. When approaching the sun, the comet is releasing very little gas to form the coma and tail only a very short and almost no tail. For example Encke comet that passed close to the sun every 3.3 years.

c. The names of the Comet
1. Comet Kohoutek.
2. Comet Arend-Roland and Maikos which appeared in 1957.
3. Comet Ikeya-Seki, was found in September 1965 by two Japanese astronomers, namely Ikeya and T. Seki.
4. Comet Shoemaker-Levy 9 which was destroyed in 1994.
5. Comet Hyakutake that appeared in 1996.
6. Comet Hale-Bopp which appeared in 1997 and others.
7. Halley's Comet

B. meteor
Meteor is the appearance of lines meteoroids fall into Earth's atmosphere, commonly known as shooting stars. Sighting was caused by the heat generated olehtekanan ram (not by friction, as generally assumed before this) at the time of meteoroids entering the atmosphere. A very bright meteor, brighter than Venus apparition, can be called a bolide. If the meteoroid does not burn out on its way in the atmosphere and reaches Earth's surface, the resulting object is called a meteorite. Meteor hit the Earth or other objects can be formed impact crater.
Meteors usually occur in the mesosphere, at altitudes from 75 km to 100 km. Millions of meteors occur in the Earth's atmosphere every day. Most meteoroids that cause meteors are the size of pebbles. They become visible between about 40 and 75 miles (65 and 120 kilometers) above Earth. They were destroyed at an altitude of 30 to 60 miles (50-95 kilometers). Most meteors, however, can be observed at night when low light conditions allow fainter meteors to be observed.

Halley's comet

Halley's comet is a comet visible from earth every 75-76 years. Officially given the name of 1P/Halley, a name commonly given after the name of Edmund Halley.

This comet is the most famous comet of other periodic comets. Although in every century many long-period comets that had appeared in more light and powerful, Halley is the only one with a short-period comets are visible with the naked eye, and therefore a comet is visible to the naked eye is definitely back in the span of human life.

Appearance throughout history has a major influence on human history, although sightings are not recognizable as the same object until the 17th century. Halley's Comet last appeared in the solar system in 1986, and will emerge again in mid-2061.

GJ676A, "Other twins" Our Solar System

One member GJ767A similar to Neptune takes 4000 days to complete one orbit.

One more solar systems like our solar system discovered by astronomers. Solar system, named GJ676A it has almost the same as the composition of the planets of our solar system.

In a study published in the arXiv and has been entered in the journal Astronomy & Astrophysics, GJ676A difference with us is only the larger size and fewer number of planets.

GJ676A system has two rocky planets that orbit close to the main star. Plus two giant gas planets orbiting some distance away. Striking difference is the size of planets in the solar system GJ676A.

As an illustration, the smallest member of the rocky planets GJ676A equal to four times the mass of Earth. While the largest gas planet five times the size of Jupiter - the biggest planet of our solar system.

Previously, other systems similar to our solar system have been found with the name of the HD10180. Solar system and even the latter is referred to as the richest exoplanets with seven to nine the number of planets orbiting the main star.

However, the HD10180 planets in the solar system are all made up of gases within a relatively close orbit. While GJ676A consists of rocky and gaseous planets. One member GJ767A similar to Neptune takes 4000 days to complete one orbit.

Similarly, Guillem Anglada said study leader Escude, a postdoctoral researcher from the University of Gottingen in Germany. Anglada Escude and his team used new techniques of data analysis for detecting planets around the primary star. But it was known earlier if this star to be the parent of a gas planet.

"It seems that other systems have a hidden recording. We just need new techniques to find them (another planet)," Anglada said Escude, Friday (6/7).

From previous studies found from the billions of stars in the Milky Way Galaxy, 15 percent of whom are likely to have a twin in our solar system. Although there was little, 15 percent of the amount it contains several hundred million stars is very similar to the "house" man.

"These results are assured if there is a solar system similar to ours. These data strengthen the hypothesis true and if indeed many of the world can be inhabited like the Earth," said Debra Fischer, an astronomer at San Francisco State University who was quoted last January 2010.

5 Reasons to Believe The UFO

The experts claimed to find traces of the UFO had stopped at the Earth is a tough thing. However, they noted some of the evidence.

More recently, Leslie Keen investigative journalist, wrote a book titled UFOs: Generals, Pilots and Government Officials Go on the Record. The book was as much as 90-95 percent of UFO sightings are seen by the observer is a recognized phenomenon of worldly objects of weather balloons, ball lightning, aircraft. While ten percent of the sightings that they see is not easy to explain.

However, Keen believes that UFOs are visitors from another world. "This is something that is rational and should be taken into account," says Keen. Here is some strong evidence that suggests the hypothesis that UFO's exist:

1. UFO sightings recorded so far. In fact long before humans into space. UFO sightings first seen in the U.S. in 1639, when Governor of Massachusetts Colony, John Winthrop, noted in his journal that James Everell, a wise man and two other witnesses, saw the object flying up and down the Muddy River near Charlestown for two to three hours.

These sightings are recorded, then they call this the airship sightings. In the 1800's time period there were also sightings, in 1897 there was a rapidly moving object hovering above the town of Mount Everest and surprising city residents.

2. Found a lot of credible recent sightings by professional observers. In 1955, Edward J. Ruppelt in his book The Report on Unidentified Flying Objects, this book records many instances of many members of the military, military pilots and pilot public, scientists and other professionals who have observed credible UFO.

One of the events, namely the experience of a jet fighter pilot's F-86 U.S. Air Force. He claimed to see a disc-shaped object moving quickly after she blew the top of the object.

3. Over the decades, the witnesses who had seen a UFO sighting shows that all have a common view. Both in terms of shape and other characteristics of the objects they had seen.

4. Found evidence that the physical form of traces of meeting space by foreign aircraft. Reports from the University of Colorado team in 1968, led by James Condon recorded a lot of evidence in nature. As an area of grass and the soil looks to be flat and other vegetation also was flat, burned, and broken

A report from Stanford University astrophysicist Peter Sturrock, who led a scientific study of the physical evidence of UFOs in the late 1990s, describes the plant samples taken from a recognized UFO landing site had occurred in France in 1981.

They found the leaves have undergone chemical changes are not uncommon. This is thought to be caused by a strong microwave radiation. This phenomenon is difficult to explain since there is no trace of radioactivity at the site.

5. Evidence of the psychological effects of the witnesses who have seen UFOs. Sturrock report describes in detail the various symptoms experienced by individuals who had a UFO encounter. Effects of their encounters with UFOs ranging from burns and temporary deafness, until nausea continuously even up to memory loss.

The most obvious example occurs in Betty Cash, Vickie Landrum and Colby Laundrum youngest grandson who reported that there is a large object shaped like a diamond that hovers over the streets of Texas in December 1980. After that all three fell ill.

Cash for example. Her eyes got bigger and blisters, swelling makes her difficult to open. Besides, he also experienced nausea and diarrhea continued. The effect was felt for many years and require hospitalization for more than 12 times.
